PSL Divisional Playoffs Set

TAMPA, FL – United Soccer Leagues announced Monday the Divisional Playoff schedule for the Pro Soccer League. The action begins with three games Friday.
State rivalries take center stage in the pair of two-leg aggregate score series with Harrisburg and Pittsburgh squaring off in the Atlantic Division and defending champion Wilmington and Charlotte battling it out in the Southern.
The action starts in both series Friday with games in Harrisburg (7:35 pm ET) and Wilmington (7:30 pm ET). The series finish on Saturday in Pittsburgh and Charlotte. Both at 7:30 pm ET. The Harrisburg-Pittsburgh second leg match will be broadcast Saturday via WMSS 91.1 FM in Harrisburg and at www.pennlive.com/cityislanders.
The Hammerheads begin defense of their title against Charlotte, who won the season series with a 2-1-1 record. The Hammerheads have reached the league final the last two seasons while Charlotte returns after three seasons in the A-League. The Eagles won the title in 2000 before making the jump up.
Surprisingly, Harrisburg won the season series against Pittsburgh with a 1-0 win and a 2-2 draw May 8 and 15, respectively. The City Islanders dealt the Riverhounds’ the second of their two losses. Pittsburgh finished the season with a 15-game unbeaten run.
The Western Division’s single-game playoff match features the 9-9-2 San Diego Gauchos visiting the Utah Blitzz, who have finished on top in the West for the fourth straight year. The pair split the season series at two wins apiece though Utah outscored the Gauchos 10-4.
As the lone qualifier from the Northern Division, the New Hampshire Phantoms receive a bye to the league semifinals.
