BALTIMORE, MD -- Crystal Palace USA Crystal Palace USA has finalized arrangements for eight preseason scrimmages against local teams, starting on Saturday March 8th at 3:00pm against the Washington DC-Based Aegean Hawks and wrapping up with George Mason University at 1:00pm on Saturday April 19th, six days before their regular season opener.
Among the preseason opponents for Palace will be last year’s USL-2 champion Harrisburg Islanders and new, local rival, the Real Maryland Monarchs. The contest with Real Maryland will also serve as a benefit and testimonial for Matthew DeOrsey, a great friend of the Crystal Palace USA organization, who died in January 2008, two days before his 31st birthday. Proceeds from this game will benefit DeOrsey’s family. More details will be posted on the website in the coming weeks.
Palace supporters are welcome to attend these scrimmages. Except for the Real Maryland game, there will be no admission charge. Those choosing to attend are advised that there is no guarantee of the availability of fan facilities at any venue. We will make every effort to announce any changes to this pre-season schedule on our website - www.crystalpalaceusa.com – but dates, times and venues may be subject to change or cancellation at short notice.
