PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Pittsburgh Riverhounds announced that its home games will be broadcast on WPIT AM radio. Veteran sports play-by-play announcer Chris Shovlin has again signed on as the "voice" of the Pittsburgh Riverhounds pro soccer team. The games will also be streamed live on www.wpitam.com.

Shovlin has been with the team since 2000, its second season of play; at both Bethel Park and at Falconi (now Consol Energy) Field in Washington. Last year, the team reorganized under new ownership and took a season off.

Shovlin has won two Pittsburgh March of Dimes A.I.R. (Achievement in Radio) Awards; one for his call of a Riverhounds' game in 2003, and another for Robert Morris Football in 1998.

He has been the play-by-play "voice" of the Robert Morris Colonials basketball team for 21-seasons, and has called every play of every RMU game since the school began fielding a team in 1994. He also handled the play-by-play of a Northeast Conference basketball playoff game on MSG (Madison Square Garden Network) and on FSN New York and FSN Pittsburgh this past hoops season.

Additionally, he is the lead play-by-play announcer on Comcast's high school football, basketball, and hockey telecasts. He and his Comcast crew won a 2007 Bronze "Telly" Award for the WPIAL Basketball Championship Games they televised. Shovlin can also be seen on telecasts featuring the Pittsburgh Passion womens' pro football team.

Most importantly, he is heard daily as the news/sports anchor and morning show sidekick on the "Bogut In The Morning Show" on 1320 WJAS-AM. He was inducted into the Beaver County Sports Hall of Fame as a Broadcaster in 2006. Chris is a native of Midland, and a graduate of Westminster College.
