GERMANTOWN, MD -- Real Maryland head coach Silvino Gonzalo has been released following the team’s 8-nil defeat at the hands of the Charlotte Eagles.

The writing had been on the wall for some time as the team has failed to win a league game since May 24th. The Monarchs have lost nine of their last 10 USL-2 fixtures, scoring only four goals and conceding 30.

Saturday night proved to be the straw that broke the camel’s back, however, as Real Maryland President Victor Moran has decided to pursue other options.

“It’s a tough decision,” Moran said, “but its one that’s in the best interest of this team.”

Despite these developments, Monarch players must stay focused as they face the Bermuda Hogges Wednesday night at the SoccerPlex for Real Maryland’s final home game of the season.
