WILMINGTON, NC -- The Wilmington Hammerheads will have a new face in goal for 2009. Tennessee native Daryl Sattler will join the Hammerheads for the 2009 season pending USL and USSF approval.

Sattler will be new to the Hammerheads organization but not to the United Soccer Leagues. He was a member of the Atlanta Silverbacks of the USL First Division in 2007 as well as played for the Nashville Metros of the Premier Development League from 2003-2006. During his stint with the Nashville Metros he was named team MVP as well as a member of the All Southern Conference team in 2003.

Sattler was a four-year starter at Western Kentucky University from 2000-2003. He holds the school record at Western Kentucky for career shutouts and was also team captain and MVP in 2002 and 2003.

Wilmington Hammerheads Head Coach David Irving stated “We are excited to have secured Daryl for the 2009 season. He has a lot of experience and will be a great replacement for John O’Hara, who is now with Real Maryland as an assistant coach and player.”
